The New-Granite-Top-Kitchen-Counter Line of Credit
-----------------------------------------------------------------
With our lowest interest rates ever, a Line of Credit with FSCU
means you can not only borrow for all the things you NEED to do,
but also for all of the things you WANT to do; home renovations,
car repairs or a much-needed vacation. Take advantage of
immediate access to a loan with reduced interest costs and more
flexibility. Borrow only what you need exactly when you need it
(while only paying interest on the outstanding amount as you pay
it back.)*

Protecting Your Monday With Chip Cards
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Although debit card fraud is rare (occurring in less than one
percent of transactions), it is still a reality that you need to
be protected against. Among the most secure forms of electronic
payments, debit cards are being made even safer with the
introduction of chip technology. The chip works like a computer on
your card increasing your protection against fraud. In an effort
to ensure maximum protection for our members, Fire Services Credit
Union has begun issuing chip cards to all members, as all magnetic
strip cards will expire on December 31, 2012. Visit your FSCU
branch, email us at [memberservices@firecreditunion.ca] or call
416.440.1294 to get more information and begin using your new chip
card today.

The Convenience of Mobility
-----------------------------------------------------------------
We know having your finances in order is a priority. Making time
for banking on your busy schedule can make that difficult. That's
why we've made banking on the go more convenient. In July we
introduced Mobile Banking, giving you access to your account from
any smartphone. Email and Mobile Alerts mean staying on top of
your account activity no matter where you are. E-transfers allow
you to get your money where it needs to be quickly and securely.
E-statements ensure that you get your account information on time
without relying on the post office. We know you have a lot to do,
and that's why we're making banking a whole lot simpler.

Loan Fraud, Borrowers Beware
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Companies that promise loans to those with bad credit or no
credit can seem very attractive, but beware. The RCMP is warning
Canadians about advance fee fraud. This is when a company
guarantees you a loan regardless of your credit history, but
requires you to pay an up-front fee. Every year criminals
generate millions of dollars by collecting these fees and then
disappearing, leaving their victims without a loan and without
their advance fee, which is often hundreds of dollars.
Classified ads and appealing offers do not confirm the legitimacy
of a company. Before giving a company your personal information
or any up-front payment you should contact the Better Business
Bureau for more information.

We've Reached a New Low (and we're talking interest rates)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Securing your mortgage at our now even lower low interest rates,
as low as 2.99%**, means less interest paid, and more money saved
(or spent on the things you really love). Whether it's a new
mortgage, or time to renew, Fire Services Credit Union can offer
you competitive rates without all the hidden fees.
